Why Do You Think Canadians are Such Heavy Internet Users?

This question was one of the questions which was negotiated during the last session. I tried to figure out why? 
My answer in the class didn't consider I thought "Because Canadians are more educated than the other countries" and I translated this explanation to "I mean they have learned that with this toll they can reach to the more and fast information and they can handle their life much easier with this resources."

New report from CIRA looks at the Internet and Canada’s place in it

# Canadians rank first in the world when it comes to Internet usage, spending an average of 45 hours per month online. Despite this fact, Canadians still spend more for broadband speed than 19 other countries. These illuminating facts, and more, are included in a new resource from the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) released today.
The 2013.CA Factbook is a compendium of facts and research about the global domain name industry and .CA’s place therein. It also provides a glimpse into the state of the Internet in Canada.
“I believe that Canadians will find the information within the Factbook revealing” said CIRA’s president and CEO Byron Holland. “From the increasing consumption of media content online to the continued growth of .CA, the Factbook provides a snapshot of an Internet landscape in Canada and around the world that is constantly evolving.
The .CA Factbook is presented as an online, social document with tweetable factoids, and numerous graphics.
Some other facts of note include:
49 per cent of Canadians strongly prefer .CA versus 17 per cent for .COM for business.
Canada’s Internet economy accounted for 3 percent of Canada’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP)  in 2012, totalling $49 billion.
Per viewer, Canada leads the world in viewing online video.
Canada’s top-level domain, is one of the fastest growing TLDs in the world, ranking fourth among its country code top-level domain (ccTLD) counterparts.
During the last five years, global registrations for domain names were up 70 per cent to almost 240 million domains online.

# Canadians are among the biggest online addicts in the world, visiting more sites and spending more time visiting websites via desktop computers than anyone else in the world, according to comScore Canada.
Continuing a trend comScore noted in its 2014 study of Canadian online habits, while Canadians use their desktops to go online more than anybody else does, smartphones are increasingly the way we accessing the internet.
49% of time online now spent on mobile devices, comScore says.
Canadians no longer the biggest web addict, report shows
And we're adding video watching to our online fix, with a sharp hike in time spent watching in the past year. 
Working with metrics such as average monthly unique visitors for certain sites, comScore calculates Canadians visit an average of 80 sites and spend an average of 36.3 hours online on their desktop computers every month.

That compares with:
Americans, who spend 35.2 hours a month online.
Italians, who spend 33.5 hours.
Britons, who spend 33 hours.
Canadians regained their place as the world's most engaged users after two years in second place, comScore says.

Once they're online, Canadians tend to linger a little longer in one place than some other big internet users. Our average number of pages visited is 3,238 a month, behind the click-happy Russians and Italians.
Mobile subscribers in Canada are up five per cent in the past year to 24 million. About four of every five mobile users have a smartphone.
